The Manufacturing Technology and Engineering Center (M-TEC) is located in the College of Engineering at New Mexico State University.

M-TEC supports economic development in New Mexico by providing technical assistance, outreach, training and engineering extension services throughout the State. M-TEC has expertise in the engineering, manufacturing, product development, prototyping and other related areas and uses the resources and facilities located in the College of Engineering to assist businesses and individuals.

As part of the land grant mission of NMSU, a business or individual who seeks technical assistance can apply online to access the service. M-TEC works with new businesses, individuals and existing organizations that are seeking to start or expand a business. M-TEC also works with NMSU faculty and staff in support of research initiatives. The M-TEC team consists of engineers, machinists, fabricators, and students and has many years of combined expertise.

The online application asks potential customers to describe the economic development potential, as a means and rational for taking on a project. M-TEC can provide many engineering and training services related to mechanical/ electrical design and manufacturing to get a project from concept to finished product. Our goal is to see a business or individual succeed in creating a new company, growing an existing business, creating new jobs or adding wealth to the community. M-TEC has assisted over 300 business and individuals and many success stories.


 

M-TEC's Mission:

To support economic development in New Mexico by providing quality manufacturing education, technical assistance and other extension services to industries in New Mexico with an overall goal of improving the standard of living of citzens of New Mexico.
