The
Manufacturing Technology and Engineering Center (M-TEC)
is a Research and Public Service Project (RPSP) providing Engineering assistance for State of New Mexico through
Engineering New Mexico and the College of Engineering at NMSU.
M-TEC supports economic development in New Mexico by providing technical
assistance, outreach, training and engineering services throughout the
State. M-TEC has expertise in engineering, manufacturing, product
development, prototyping and other related areas and uses the resources and
facilities located in the College of Engineering to assist businesses and
individuals.
As part of the land grant mission of NMSU, a business or individual who
seeks technical assistance can
apply online to access the service. M-TEC works
with new businesses, individuals and existing organizations that are seeking to
start or expand a business. The
online application asks potential customers to describe the economic
development potential, as a means and rational for taking on a project.
M-TEC supports workforce development by providing
short course training activities and by
partnering with New Mexico High Schools and Community Colleges through programs such as
Project Lead The Way.
M-TEC's Mission:
To support economic development in New Mexico by providing quality engineering, technical assistance, training, manufacturing and extension services to industries in New Mexico with an overall goal of improving the standard of living of citizens of New Mexico.
